Luxury Vinyl Flooring Installation in Kansas City

Affordable Waterproof Flooring With the Look of Wood or Tile

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring deliver the look of more expensive flooring materials at a budget-friendly price.

While luxury vinyl flooring is not wood and doesn’t add the same value to your home, it is durable, attractive, and more affordable than real hardwood. It is also water-resistant or even waterproof, making it a fine flooring choice for many households.

Worry-Free Luxury Vinyl Flooring Installation

When you choose SVB Wood Floors to install your luxury vinyl plank flooring or luxury vinyl tile, you’ll know it’s done right. While LVP flooring installation is easier than installing and finishing a hardwood floor, there are potential pitfalls. For example, if luxury vinyl flooring is installed over a surface that has too much moisture (like a cement subfloor in a basement), it can develop mold problems later on. We test the moisture levels and install a vapor barrier if needed. Our expert team makes the entire process worry-free before, during and after installation.

You’ll also know you’re getting only the best in luxury vinyl flooring when you work with SVB.

Even though “luxury” is in the name, not all luxury vinyl flooring is created equal. Some vinyl flooring products are intended for quick, inexpensive style updates and won’t deliver the lasting durability busy households need. When you invest in luxury vinyl plank flooring or vinyl tile, we want you to reap the full benefits and have a floor you can enjoy for years to come. That’s why we’re proud to carry and install luxury vinyl flooring with proven durability and the best manufacturer warranties available.

Benefits of SVB Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring Installations

1. Affordable

Hardwood flooring is hands-down the best option for long-term value, but it’s not always in the budget. Luxury vinyl plank flooring is significantly cheaper than traditional hardwood and can offer a similar look and decent durability for your budget.

However, you should be aware that unlike solid hardwood flooring and some engineered wood flooring, luxury vinyl flooring can’t be refinished. It will have to be replaced when it wears out.

If you’re looking for right-now value, luxury vinyl flooring delivers. If you’re looking for decades-long value and/or adding to the resale value of your home, hardwood is the way to go.

2. Waterproof

Luxury vinyl planks and tiles are great for kitchens, bathrooms, entryways, mudrooms and laundry rooms because they are much more impervious to water than real wood. We offer and install 100% waterproof luxury vinyl flooring, so you don’t have to worry about wet shoes, kitchen spills or bathtub sloshes.

Luxury vinyl flooring can also be an option in basements or homes where dampness and humidity is an issue. Luxury vinyl planks don’t absorb moisture the same way hardwood planks do, so they won’t warp in the way solid wood might.

3. Quiet & Comfortable Underfoot

The luxury vinyl planks and tiles we install come with cork, foam or felt backing. This thin layer of cushioning absorbs impact and makes the floor more comfortable underfoot. It also absorbs some amount of sound, helping to reduce echo. Cushioned luxury vinyl tiles keep a more consistent temperature than standard stone tiles, so they aren’t as cold to walk on.

4. Scratch and Scuff Resistant

Luxury vinyl flooring is scuff, dent and scratch-resistant. It can handle heavy traffic and can be a good choice for busy households and/or households with pets.

Much of the durability of vinyl flooring comes down to the thickness and quality of the wear layer—the clear topcoat that protects the decorative layer beneath. The thicker the wear layer, the higher the quality. We offer and install only luxury vinyl flooring that will wear well and provide years of beauty.

5. Quick to Install

There are various ways to install luxury vinyl plank flooring or luxury vinyl tile flooring, depending on the product you choose and your existing flooring (if any). We’ll help you choose the right installation method and get it done fast. You’ll be enjoying your beautiful new floors before you know it.

6. Incredible Range of Options

Luxury vinyl flooring mimics the look of other materials, including wood, stone, marble, concrete and ceramic/porcelain. It is available in many style options to match any decor.

FAQ

Luxury vinyl flooring is a highly engineered and durable synthetic product that is made to look like hardwood or stone. While luxury vinyl plank (LVP) has become a bit of a catch-all term for any type of luxury vinyl flooring, there are actually several varieties, each with differences in construction. When looking at luxury vinyl plank flooring options, you may see terms like EVP (engineered vinyl plank), Rigid Core, WPC (wood plastic composite), and SPC (solid plastic composite). These all refer to the specific construction of the vinyl flooring. Don’t worry—we’ll go over all these options during your free in-home design consultation!

In general, though, all luxury vinyl flooring is made similarly. Luxury vinyl planks and tiles are composite products made up of many layers.

  • At the bottom is an attached underlayment pad made of cork, felt or foam. This adds cushioning warmth and a bit of sound absorption to the flooring.
  • Next is the core, made up of several layers of compressed plastic, wood plastic composite, or stone plastic composite.
  • The top decorative vinyl layer is printed with a high-definition photograph of a wood species, stone, or ceramic tile. This is what gives the product its realistic wood or stone appearance.
  • The decorative layer is protected with a clear, durable plastic resin coating that protects against scuffs, scratches and spills. This is called the “wear layer.”

Luxury vinyl flooring comes in a range of thicknesses. Thicker luxury vinyl plank flooring is typically more durable and offers better warranties.

We’d be happy to. Any new project begins with a free in-home design consultation. We’ll make sure you get the luxury vinyl plank or vinyl tile flooring that will match your style and durability needs.

"Great company to work with! Very impressed with every aspect of the process. It was nice to be able to stay in our home while the work was being done. Dust was not an issue at all, nor were fumes. Most importantly, the floors look amazing!”
- Brandi, Lee's Summit, MO
I love the new resurfaced floors. There is very little dust. The sales personnel and resurfacing crew were extremely professional. I am very happy to refer this company and will use them in the future. My floors look great!!! Thank you SVB Floors.
- Mavis Hutchings
My home is nearly 60 years old and still has the original oak floors. SVB recently refinished the floor in living room and hallway, and now it looks brand new -- way better than I ever expected. There was no dust (as advertised) and no mess left behind. All the employees that I met are very nice people -- professional and friendly. Thanks, SVB. You are a class act!
- Elaine Schendt
SVB refinished our floors during a kitchen/hearth remodel. Our contractor hired SVB to do the work. Their crew was extremely polite, friendly and absolutely left no mess. So quick and efficient. Floors look great and I wouldn't call anyone else but them for future work. Amazing crew!
- Kristen G
SVB provided excellent, highly qualified "craftsmen" who added hardwoods to my existing flooring. Each team performed and completed the match with amazing results! The color match was 99% true, the cleanliness & dust free treatment left my wife & I speechless, and the installed fine oak floor added value to our home.
- Lee Valentine
Our experience with SVB Wood Floors was outstanding every step of the way. Whether speaking on the phone or interacting in person, every employee was very professional. We are very pleased with the timeliness and quality of their work. SVB refinished our kitchen and dining room floors, but if I didn't know better I would think the wood had been replaced! It looks that much better. I wish we had done this years ago!
- Kim Rath
We had floors installed and some refinished a couple weeks ago. I just want you all to know this is the best experience we have had in any kind of contract work we have ever had done. Your team was so professional and considerate at every phase of this project. We were so impressed beginning with Eric’s estimate to the last coat applied.
