Herringbone, Chevron & Other Designer Parquets
Parquet (wood pattern) flooring is a way to elevate any interior design. Whether your decor is traditional or modern, a patterned floor can add understated elegance and luxury. More and more Kansas City-area homeowners are requesting parquet floors (especially Chevron and Herringbone patterns) and SVB Wood Floors is here to make those designer dreams come true.
A Herringbone pattern uses rectangular planks in a zigzag pattern, giving the effect of overlapping planks and angles. A Chevron floor also has a zigzag pattern, but the ends of the boards are cut at an angle to form a distinctive V-shape. Both Herringbone and Chevron floors require precision and skill to lay correctly. Trust your designer floor to the expert craftsmen at SVB.
Medallions, Inlays & Borders
Make your new or existing wood floor spectacular with an inlay, medallion, border or other custom touches. While this may sound prohibitively expensive or difficult, you’ll be surprised how easy and affordable it can be.
Today’s wood floor manufacturers produce stunning inlays that can be added to your floor to create an eye-catching design. You can add a medallion to your entryway or create a wood “rug” in your dining room with a beautiful wood border.
Handcrafted Custom Hardwood Floors
Handcrafted flooring has variations in texture that cannot be replicated in a factory. Each board that goes into our handcrafted floors is hand-scraped by our skilled artisans or by Amish craftsmen. This gives each plank individual character; no two are ever alike. Once installed, the final result creates a feeling of Old World charm and warmth.
True handcrafted flooring allows you to dictate the wood species, plank widths and lengths, and the level of scraping and hand-finishing you desire. Wide plank, long length, slight scraping or heavy hand-tooling…the options are endless and the choice is all yours.
Need a lower-cost alternative to hand-scraping with a similar look? Try distressed hardwood flooring.
Handcrafted flooring is labor-intensive and therefore more expensive. If you love the look of handcrafted flooring but it’s not in your budget, distressed flooring may be the solution.
Factory-distressed, prefinished hardwood flooring emulates some of the features of a hand-scraped floor. The level of distressing (i.e. denting, scooping and roughing) varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. The result is a beautiful floor that looks aged without the increased turn-around time or cost of a hand-scraped floor.
Distressed flooring provides a custom look without the custom price. Contact us today for a free design consultation to review your options.
