FAQ: How to Choose a Stain Color

We get a lot of questions from homeowners about our services at SVB Wood Floors. One of the most common is, “How do I choose a stain color?” It can be a bit daunting when you are at our offices, trying to decide what will match your home, but we make it easy for you to feel confident in your hardwood stain color choice. Here are a few ways we can help you make this difficult decision and accommodate your preferences.

SVB Will Come to Your Kansas City Home

After your initial consultation for hardwood floor staining our team of professional stainers will come to your home. After they’re done sanding they will do a sample test of different stain options for you to see first hand. This is also helpful so that you can see what it would look like with the rest of your home. We have a large array of staining options for you to choose from, so you’re bound to find something you’ll fall in love with. And since we are a member of the National Wood Floor Association you can rest assured that we only offer the highest quality stains that aren’t laden with harmful chemicals.

Custom Floor Stains, Created For Any Home

If you can’t imagine using any of the stains we show you on your hardwood floors there is another option that many of our customer choose. We can mix a custom stain for your floors. Most of our stains are made of the same basic formula and can be mixed lighter, darker, redder, more brown, etc.  This gives you the ability to match your floors perfectly with the rest of your home. It also allows you to have a one-of-a-kind floor that no one else has. Get started with a free, in-home consultation today! Or, give us a call!
