This style of hardwood flooring looks similar to the look of reclaimed wood floors. This technique brushes away the soft portion of the wood to expose the grain. This enhances the definition and character of each plank. Wired brush distressing also makes the wood more durable since the harder portion of the planks become exposed. This is great for homes that have dogs and young kids. SVB experts suggest using the technique on the wood before installation.
